Last day of summer school for Lubbock ISD students will be June 22
The Texas Education Agency announced the removal of student consequences from the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness for fifth- and eighth-grade students for the 2015-16 school year, but Lubbock Independent School District will continue with its summer school program.
Mike Morath, Texas commissioner of education, recently made the announcement as a result of ongoing reporting issues with the state’s testing vendor. Morath also canceled the planned June 21-22 retest.
LISD will continue with summer school to help provide students with the support they need to be successful in the upcoming school year. This will include students who have met promotion requirements based on report card grades. The last day of summer school for LISD students will be June 22.
